Richard Pagan – Personal Trainer
Born 1970 – Broward County, Florida
At 5 years old, my parents enrolled me in Tae Kwon Do. I trained 6 days a week for 23 years. I guess you could say this is where my passion for fitness began.
I later on went on to achieve my 4th Dan. By my late teens I had the opportunity to travel internationally for the Tae Kwon Do Invitationals. I went on to teach Tae Kwon Do for children and adults for 12 years. I spent 6 of these years as an assistant coach for the Florida State Team to qualify students for Nationals. During this time, I also coached at Scandinavian Sports Club part-time.
At 28 years old, I started training more with weights. At the time, I found that I wanted to gain more muscle mass and challenge myself on another path. Eventually in 2002, I started working at LA Fitness, met allot of interesting athletes in my tenure with them. With learning and experimenting, I started entering bodybuilding competitions. I loved the discipline that these competitions encouraged, but I wanted to be able to enjoy food more (bodybuilding competitions demand months of endless disciplined eating).
This is when I got an interest in powerlifting where I met my wife, Tanya. Tanya is talented lifter. With proper nutritional coaching and working with some of the worlds best powerlifters (Brian Carrol, Matthew Minuth, etc.) she qualified for the Arnold Classic Sports Festival in 2017.
What I have learned through these experiences over the course of my lifetime cannot be found in books. It’s just something you have to experience hands on. In my late 40s, I competed in my first powerlifting meet and placed 1st in the American Powerlifting Federation in the 220 pound Raw Men’s class of 2018. This year, I will be turning 53.
verything I have learned over a lifetime of study and hands on experience I want to share and help anyone to become the best version of themselves. It doesn’t have to be just an idea in ones mind that one wishes for. Everyone is capable of becoming your very own superhero.
As everything in life it takes discipline and persistence. Simple recipe for any success.
Training style:
-Body Sculpting/ Body Building
-Agility, Speed, and Flexibility (training through martial art technical exercises)
-Overall Health and Vitality
-Strength Training, Powerlifting, MMA, Traveling.
-Cooking and trying new food.
