Trainers
Zoo Gym would like to introduce our new personal trainers and class schedule. Our trainers are ready to take your fitness to the next level. With over 20 years of combined experience we are able to make a fitness routine catered directly to your fitness needs. With different training styles all of our trainers will be available for anything you wish to accomplish.
We are happy to introduce two new classes held throughout the week. TRX fitness training is a full body circuit style training program catered to clients who are looking for a new form of exercise and are up for a controlled challenge with programs designed to test your whole body.
Using only your body weight, this new form of exercise will develop core strength and ramp up your heart rate at the same time. Classes will be held Mondays & Wednesdays at 8 am and 9 am.
Circuit training is a small group class catered to individuals who are looking to get better results in their workouts. This routine will utilize all different avenues of fitness; body weight exercises, stability ball, medicine ball, barbells and dumbbells. No machine work will be done here. This class is non stop and will definitely push your muscles to their limits. Classes will be held Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 5 pm and 6 pm.
Our newest trainer Andres comes from Texas and has been training for over 5 years and is a yoga and fitness enthusiast. With his personal training certification and TRX suspension training certification his training style is available for anyone looking to slim down or bulk up. Available both mornings and evenings he has become our popular trainer and is getting pretty booked up so call us or come in for availability.
Luz – Personal Trainer NPTI, Crossfit – Crossfit Level 1, JNL Fusion – Master Trainer
I always had a passion for fitness. Growing up I tried everything in fitness from aerobic and boot camp classes, weight lifting, and running. I would play all sports with the boys at school because it was more challenging. I decided to pursue my passion for fitness and became a Personal Trainer in 2008 in Chicago, IL. I have worked as a trainer and group class instructor for several wellness programs helping people of all ages and fitness levels to achieve there goals in life. I recently moved to Florida to further my career in Person Training and I discovered yet another form of fitness in Crossfit. I fell in love with the challenges Crossfit has given me in my own training and how it helped me improve significantly in strength, endurance, stamina, power and nutrition that I pursued a certification in Crossfit. I will always further my education in fitness so that I can help motivate and encourage you with your long time goals to become fit and healthy for life.

Philosophy:
Good Health is not received; it is achieved! Don’t fool yourself into thinking that there is an easy way to get fit…..there’s not. If it were easy everybody would be fit and healthy and we wouldn’t have an obesity epidemic. Let me help you make the changes that will lead to a healthier life!
How do I motivate my clients?
My sense of humor and easy going personality differs from that of most trainers you see on TV. I prefer a relaxed non-intimidating approach that helps a client ease into a fitness program. As we get to know one another I will find what drives you based on your personality. Everyone is motivated by something different; it is my job to find out what that is to help you achieve great results!

Learn how to prioritize, focus on and accomplish what you set out to do. Don’t just work out, train with a plan! The 4 Step Fat Shred Program consists of four 4 week phases set your mind to your goals simplify your path.
- Each phase is personalized toward your current fitness level and abilities
- Each phase takes 4 weeks, working out 3 to 4 times a week
- Each phase has its own intermittent goals
- Each phase will take you one step closer towards your long term goals
- Each phase includes 4 personal training sessions
- Resistance workout A (30 – 40 min)
- Cardio workout (30 min)
- Resistance workout B (30-40 min)
- Nutrition and lifestyle consultation (prioritize, simplify, implement, 30 min)
- Learn why along with cardio you need resistance training to melt off the fat
- Alternate the resistance workouts A and B with your cardio routine and repeat 4 to 6 times,
- Within each phase, workouts are periodized and will change in volume and intensity. Each workout has a different benchmark to meet.
Start each phase with 4 personal training sessions (30 to 40 minutes each), followed by your custom designed exercise road map to let you work on your own until the next phase $160/phase or $600/program
Phase 1: Start Shifting: Prep work (4 weeks) – $160
- Designed for you to build a strong foundation to power up future performance
- Introduce not only your muscles, but your joints, bones, ligaments and neuromuscular system to new exercises and movement patterns
- Focus on alignment, core stability, balance and range of motion while burning fat. Workouts include isometric exercises, bodyweight exercises and core work
- Establish and improve aerobic endurance and start shifting calories. Chose any type of equipment or just your body. The pace is light to moderate with changing patterns of intensity, working within your level of fitness
- Nutrition: Learn how to cut through diet information overload
- Set SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, timely) goals
- Find an approach that fits your lifestyle
- Establish your calorie bracket given your current weight and activity level
- Optional: body composition assessment, photos and measurements
Phase 2: Burn the Fat (4 weeks) – $160
- Get your system ready to handle external resistance with focus on lighter weights and higher number of repetition exercises
- Learn two full body weight circuits designed to shift back and forth from upper to lower body for optimal fat burning by keeping your heart rate up.
- Step up your cardio routine with interval training to burn even more calories.
- Nutrition: After 4 weeks working out and burning fat you will need to
- Reestablish your calorie bracket and reassess your nutrition, taking changes in your body composition and your new workout routine into consideration
- Set new goals and expand on your healthy habits repertoire
- Optional: body composition assessment, photos and measurements
Phase 3: Build Lean Muscle Mass (4 weeks) – $160
- Learn two full body weight circuits that step up the intensity by lifting heavier weights within an increasing number of sets but less repetitions. Add lean muscle mass to your system and rev up your metabolism. This is not a ‘bulking up’ routine, we don’t shoot for hypertrophy (pumped up muscle) here. This is about long lean muscles that burn fat even as you rest.
- Shake up your cardio routine with new moves and intervals and higher intensity to avoid plateauing.
- Nutrition: time for another reassessment (same as phase 2)
Phase 4: Final Push (4 weeks) – $160
- Almost There: This is where the magic happens. Learn two new full body circuits that include advanced compound moves that work multiple muscle groups at the same time and blast away the last layers of fat
- step up your cardio routine another notch with high intensity interval training (HIIT) and plyometric moves that torch calories.
- Nutrition: time for another reassessment (same as phase 2 and 3)
Each of the 4 phases build on one another and focus on different sets of goals and benchmarks. Never hit a plateau, keep progressing and getting the results you want
