Kendo: the formal art and practice of Japanese swordsmanship
Train the body: Kendo is great aerobic exercise that sharpens the reflexes without the need for strength. Everyone can participate and get in shape.
Train the mind: Kendo teaches observation and the development of strategy against different opponents. Learn about the philosophy of the Samurai.
Train the spirit: Kendo cultivates the ability to fight or face stressful situations calmly and without fear or anger.
Sedokan Kendo is not for profit so classes are free.
We practice at the Zoo Health Club: 546 Woolbright Road, Boynton Beach, FL 33435. You can join us by becoming a member of the Zoo Health Club or by paying for a day pass. Classes are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoon.

SilverSneakers® Class Description
SilverSneakers® Muscular Strength & Range of Movement
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/ or standing support.
SilverSneakers® Cardio Circuit
Combine fun and fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper body strength work using hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball is alternated with non-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is offered for support, head to toe stretching, and complete relaxation in a comfortable position.
SilverSneakers® YogaStretch
YogaStretch will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.
